Well, I broke my big toe!!!!
No kidding here!
I acually broke it on Tuesday at work somehow, but I only realized it after I had gotten home! Now what? I don’t even know how I did it so workmans comp. isn’t going to pick it up, and I can’t afford to miss work for a boo-boo on my big toe , what a joke that would be!
Even though it only seems to be a fracture, It is still swolen, four different colors ( pretty ), and VERY TENDER!!! I can’t worry about it now, like spilt milk… It’s done, so I have to hobble on. Thank god for drugs! I have always loved drugs, and now… I have an excuse to do them at work! With everything else that is going on in this Country today, I count myself one of the lucky ones, I have a job, no morgage, no car, or credit card debt. Yes, student loans are sucking me dry, but me and my purple, yellow, red and green toe are going to be just fine!

Tape the toe!!! Anything to immobilize it….wrap it to the next tall toe, and when you can, keep it elevated. You might even want to get a splint, since it’s the big-un, that way you’ve got support at the bottom as well. Keep your shoe laces looser on that foot when you’re at work.
That’s all I got to say about that!
About money. I WISH I had it as together as you do. If student loans are the only debt you have, you are 10,000,000 ahead of the rest of us! If you are interested in remaining debt free, I really recommend reading “Your Money or Your Life” (author Joe Dominquez and ??) You’ve already won the majority of the battle. The book has great strategies and ideas for reigning inspending habits, and for investing in your future safely !
Take care!

Mi, I can’t tape my toe!! I love your concern, and well thoughts, but I already walk funny!!!. As it is, my toe is happiest at work, I wear real wooden clogs, they keep my toes from bending to much, which is why I didn’t even notice it was broken in the first place, I’m sure! On the money issue, I have almost given up! Not in a bad way, but I have decided to not worry about it… as long as I’m not getting more in debt, I’m above the mark!

You are now the 2nd person I’ve ever known/seen in the US that wears clogs. Shite u not! We live out in the boonies in Ohell, and we go to a neighboring ‘town’ for Chinese food occasionally, and we always see this man who wears clogs. Thing is: His clogs are FLOURESCENT ORANGE.
I have no idea what this means, where he comes from, nothing. Just peculiar for a rural Ohio fashion statement!
I used to wear the oh-so-fashionable non-wooden type 80’s clogs…back then, but I hated them because I’m about as graceful as a rhino with rollerblades on greasy ice. I need stability and ankle support to remain upright
Rock on with your monetary decisions. Don’t give up, just keep looking forward!!
Mi,
HAHA If I could afford green clogs, you should know I would have them!!!!
My company of pickles and jams is called Green Square, and I have several tattoo’s to honor it! I am crazy for the color!!
The swelling has gone down , and the colors are fading as well. and
“There’s no place like home” is not on my agenda at the moment! but thanks for the advice!!!!!
Seeing how I think it is only fractured, It seems to be healing well, and quickly! I have broken toes in the past that given me much more difficultly! the smaller ones seem to be the worst. I promise to keep my head up and my toe still!

If I EVER see a pair of Green Clogs, I will get them and send them to you.
Do you work in your clogs? Aren’t you afraid of sliding ass-long into assorted kitchen equipment all the shift long day? Again, probably my inability to exude grace, thus I have a hard time that anyone else can remain upright!!
Glad the toesy is healing well!
