Does absence make the heart grow fonder?
Yes absence does make the heart grow fonder, However prolonged absence make the memory fade and dissipate altogether if your not careful. When you are away from your lover, or favorite town, or even your favorite eatery for awhile you tend to only remember ( or focus on ) the positive. This isn’t a bad thing it’s just not realistic. The good ole days weren’t always so good. Our mind just seems to misplace or hide the negative memories from us for some reason. I am in no way a pessimist but I do believe we need to hold on to the whole memory, not just the puppy dogs, and rainbows of our past. The negative in our lives had just as much influence on who we are today as the positive, We owe them their due. I am not saying to wallow in your past suffering , only to embrace it, own it, and be proud of how you concord it and grew into the person you are now! I am very thankful that I remember ALL of my past, the good, the bad, and the ugly, for without them I am nothing… nothing but another man walking the streets in a haze of false happiness.
Absence does make the heart grow fonder, but be careful it may also make the eye wander!
Don’t stay gone for to long!!
You just might forget your way home!!
