I’m starting my “QUITING journal” today.
Yes It’s true… I’m Quiting… I quit drinking almost three weeks ago to prepare myself for quiting smoking!
I have had enough of it after 24+ years, so I’m finally kicking the habit once and for all. I wanted to start this on the first, but due to the lay of the calender, I decided to postpone it until after the weekend. Not because of Halloween, but Saturday and Sunday brunch are two of my most stressful days at the “office” and we have a full staff, I just couldn’t bear to be a total raging Bitch too everyone just to jive with the days! So Sunday, November 2, 2008 is the magic day! I will indulge during the day and finish the pack I have and be cigarette free by Monday morning! I will only have to work two days before I get my two days off, and they are a little slower, and less crowded, as far as staff are concerned. I am less likely to make someone cry! Once Wednesday rolls around I can just lock this monster in my room and sweat it out as they say!
I am going to be allowing you to follow my progress, by posting about it every Sunday, Recapping my week. My rants, tears, relapses, as well as breakthroughs ( I hope ). So you will have to stay tuned to see how I fare!
Hopefully FAGZILLA won’t come out too often, He’s is a shear terror!
Wish me luck,
And be glad you don’t live or work with me right now!
HAHAHAHA!
Sorry, but that may be my last joke for a while so I just had too!
James, Mr. Hyde

Congratulations! I grew up with alcoholic parents, and had a little bout of drinking and drugging back in my 20’s that scared me straight, since I was a single parent of a beautiful little boy. I decided that I didn’t need to ruin his life like my parents had ruined mine.
I’m subscribing to your blog, and I’ll be here to lend support. You can PM me anytime you want to talk.
(((((((((((((((((((((mega HUUUUUUUUUUGS!!!!)))))))))))))))))))
Good luck! I’ve quit 3 times, this time for good and it is not easy. Watch out for the 2nd week, that’s when the nightmares sometimes start and the insomnia.

Thanks so much for the support cgardener, I just might have to take you up on your offer! I really want to make this stick, even though it is my first real shot at it.
thepregnantlady, thank you as well for your support, and sound warning, I will do my best in this battle!
Please stay tuned… I will need some words of wisdom as well as encouragement from you both I’m sure!!!
I quit over a year ago. It was hard but I have not fallen off the wagon, not even once. Stay strong and I bet you can make it through too!
I wish you the best of luck.
If you hang out with friends who smoke, I recommend avoiding them for a bit until you can get the cravings under control. I had to with a friend of mine. I knew if I was around here when she was smoking, I would want to as well.
Hey good luck! I quit two years ago cold turkey. It was rough for the first week, but seventy five packs of gum later and thousands upon thousands of straws later, I was smoke free!
Woohoo!! Good for you. Just remember not to smoke no matter how much you want to. It gets easier and easier the more time goes along and be sure to have other distractions like candies/food or hobbies.
