kitchen Angst!

I’ve been sick for the last week! Although I have tried to ignore this fact… I can ignore it no longer! I am pissed and I need to vent! I normally don’t get the latest sickness! However this one grabbed me by the nads and has held on for dear life! Even though I have been able to work through the pain, I wish I could just stay home and get over it. It sucks even more being in the food handling profession. I feel a responsibility to the general public to be healthy, but I can’t miss a day of work! Not only because of my personal finances, but also due to the fact that there is no one to cover for me! If I don’t show up the restaurant doesn’t open! 10 people will loose their wages for the day, 100 people ( or more ) will not get their breakfast, or lunch! OK, that may be a stretch, but It’s how I feel. I have to show up and at least try! I am very clean and wash my hands regularly, but that doesn’t take away the fact that I AM SICK! If You are going to the airport to board a plane for Australia, or London and pick up an illness in some cafe in L.A. You will be sick before you land! THAT SUCKS! Your trip is ruined before you leave! I feel very responsible for the well being of everyone who eats my food, but even more so of those going to travel long distances. I want to be the positive start… not the thing that ruined the trip! Our country needs to figure out It’s health care system! Sure I could go to a “free health care clinic “If I had all day, or just miss a week of work without pay! But I can’t afford either one! I just got my insurance benefits, so things may change, but I still have to pay for them! I want sick days for the common Man!!!!! Plus I want to feel better!
