As you see I changed my header picture!
This picture was taken of my own line of Pickles and jams. I started Green square (a canning company) three years ago while I was running a small cafe here in West Hollywood. Unfortunately as soon as the cafe went under I lost not only my home as Green Square, but also the kitchen I used to produce it. I have tried to find a new home to no avail (so far). I will continue to look and hope someday soon Green Square will rise again!
I made everything using all natural ingredients, organic produce whenever possible, and no commercially processed Pectin. This may sound extreme, and it is. I just wanted to be able to say that mine was just as good as Gramma’s. I know in the link I put up, It states that all pectins are natural, that is not completely true. many do have added preservatives or stabilizers. This is what I was tiring to avoid.
I want to explore this almost lost art in some of my future blogs. I really enjoy making my own preserves as well as having my friends and family begging me for more when their “stash” runs out. Yea, I’m the pusher man!
I have found this kitchen rental situation hear in Los Angeles, This just may be the way I go. I just have to find the money to get it going. I know I will, it just may take a little more time.
