This will be my last in the Salt department. For a while.
In Judges, 9:45. It talks about not only Killing everyone, but Sowing the city with salt. This means they made the land barren. Again a very negative image. As powerful as salt is… I find it disturbing that it has been used as a “weapon of mass destruction”, Rendering an entire city unable to provide for Itself. I have no comments about salt in this blog other than to say again…sometimes to much, is just that “to much”!
Use it wisely, as well as sparingly. Taste everything and slowly add your salt. Try using more acid in your dishes to cut back on the amount of salt you have to add in the first place, sometimes a squeeze of lemon will do the trick! Acid doesn’t open the taste buds like salt does, but it does break down the fats that clog them up, so you can “taste” again. It is all about balance. Everything in moderation.
Don’t be afraid to try new things… Its only food on a plate after all.
